Living in Welaka, Florida

Welaka is a small town 90 miles south of Jacksonville on the banks of the St. Johns River. Across the river is the Ocala National Forest. Welaka also has a national forest offering hiking trails and horseback riding. Welaka is rich in black bass, speckled perch, shrimp and many other varieties of fish. Welaka is home to the Welaka National Fish Hatchery and Aquarium and the Welaka Maritime Museum.
